Warnings
- The macOS (OS X) version of this game does not work on macOS Catalina (version 10.15) or later due to the removal of support for 32-bit-only apps.
Cars 2 is a singleplayer and multiplayer third-person racing gamein the Cars series.
The game was released for Windows and macOS on June 21, 2011 alongside the console versions to commemorate the release of the eponymous movie. It was released on Steam on October 6, 2014 worldwide, alongside numerous other Disney titles on PC.[2]
The PC version is based on the graphically inferior Wii release rather than the 360/PS3 versions. Despite this, Steam page falsely advertises the game with screenshots from said versions.[3] Currently, the game's modding community is working on bringing the PC version on par with the console/arcade version, such as restoring their graphics[4] (also see this section) and porting the console DLC characters over to this version, as they were never officially released on PC.[5]

Arcade models
- This mod replaces all character models (including NPCs) with the ones from the arcade version of the game by Raw Thrills, which have richer detail compared to the default PC version models. Some cutscenes also get their animations restored with this mod, such as the one in the Coastal Invasion mission.
