While there are plenty of celebrity kids who look like their famous parents, there are very few who come close to one particularly twinning mother-daughter duo: Reese Witherspoon and her daughter, Ava Phillippe. And with Ava turning 22 today, we couldn’t pass up the chance to prove that she favors her actor-producer mom more with each passing year. If ever there was a case of a Hollywood A-lister giving birth to their own doppelganger, this is surely it.

Let it be said that Ava does, in fact, also bear a resemblance to her famous father, Shooter star Ryan Phillippe. But, let’s be real, Ryan’s real twin is his son (and Ava’s little bro) Deacon Phillippe. Plus, while Ava looks like her dad, she could quite literally step in as her mom’s double in a movie or TV show — they’re that identical. And it’s not every day you mistake a Hollywood heavyweight like Reese for anyone, let alone their 22-year-old daughter.

In addition to being each other’s carbon copies, this mother-daughter duo shares an unshakeable emotional bond. When Ava left to pursue her studies at UC Berkeley, Reese admitted to Ellen DeGeneres, “I might have gone into her empty room, laid down on her bed, and cried when she went to college.” Reese even chose Ava as the face of her Draper James clothing and lifestyle line.

So, here’s to Reese and her lookalike daughter — we look forward to hardly being able to tell them apart for the foreseeable future!

Reese brought Ava as her “plus one” to the Big Little Lies New York premiere at Lincoln Center, where they showed off their matching smiles.
Out & about in the Big Apple
The chic mother-daughter duo twinned it in oversized square sunnies for an evening out in New York City.
Must love dogs
Out to lunch at Santa Monica’s Blue Plate Eatery, Reese and Ava mimicked each other in more ways than one: messy buns, sunnies pushed atop their head, casual-but-cute outfits and, naturally, a shared love for their French bulldog pup, Pepper.
Patrons of the arts
In addition to looking alike, Reese and her daughter share many of the same passions! They revealed one when they attended the LA Dance Project Gala together in 2018 in matching head-to-toe black.
Glam fam
For the premiere of A Wrinkle in Time, Reese and Ava upped the glamour ante with cascading curls and elegant ensembles. Thankfully they wore different colored dresses, lest we may not be able to tell them apart!

Ava modeled a cute new lob haircut at the UK premiere of A Wrinkle in Time, but not even a dramatically different ‘do could change the fact she’s her mom’s twin.
Beauties in black and gold
For the 2017 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, Reese and Ava opted for sleek black and gold styles. The true twinning accessory here, though, is the expression on their faces!

When Reese and Ava were spotted in Charles de Gaulles (aka the Roissy Airport in Paris) in November 2017, the pair looked like total sophisticates in matching black tops and sunglasses.

Reese and Ava rocked matching beachy waves when they attended WSJ Magazine’s 2017 Innovator Awards in New York City together.
Fierce and fun
While Reese and Ava often choose classic styles in neutral colors, they decided to go bold for the Los Angeles premiere of Home Again. And even though Reese went with bright red and Ava went for animal print, they gave off the exact same fierce (yet fun!) vibe.
Twice as nice
We’re not sure if it was their matching updos, their romantic makeup or their megawatt smiles, but Ava and Reese looked more like sisters than a mother-daughter duo at the LA premiere of Big Little Lies.
Rockin’ Looks
We love how Ava and Reese’s dresses both give off a rocker vibe, with the bling and the black color. They honestly looked so glam here at the premiere of Sing. Is it just us or do they totally look like they could be sisters instead of mother/daughter here?
A family affair
Proud mom Reese brought along both of her little lookalikes — Ava and Deacon — for the 29th American Cinematheque Awards in 2015. And, honestly, if Ava’s hair wasn’t dyed pink we probably wouldn’t be able to tell her and her mom apart.
Hollywood Star #Throwback
Reese received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010, so she brought both Ava and little bro Deacon along for the ceremony.
