Wesley Hanna Trio

The House of FiFi DuBois: 123 S Chadbourne St

8:30 pm - 12:00 am

Wesley Hanna is a Texas country singer-songwriter living in Fort Worth, TX. When he’s not hard at work in his role as a petroleum engineer, he moonlights as a showman and barroom poet. His honky tonk repertoire has made him and his bandmates, Stacie Hanna (bass) and Michael Durkan (fiddle), a hit in the dancehalls and dives in the great state of Texas. The group brings a neo-traditional Texas swagger to their sets like none other, that pays homage to the roots of the Lone Star State and its unique culture. The album Brand New Love Potion was recorded in 2022 at the Zone Recording Studio in Dripping Springs, TX. Produced by veteran engineer Pat Manske, the 10-song LP is filled with original honky tonk hits that provide the listener with a pure lone-star experience. The album consists of mostly traditional country tracks that take the listener back to a time when country music was played on country radio. Kyle “Trigger” Coroneos of Saving Country Music writes, “This is one of those albums where some of the songs are so good, you would swear they must be covers. The opening title track sells you on Wesley Hanna within the first 15 seconds. “Back to the Honky Tonks” is an idea that’s been done in a dozen country songs before, but perhaps nobody has done it better than Hanna does here. “Texas Road Trip” and “Concho Pearl” are perfect examples of how to use geography in songwriting to favorable results. And “The Waltz” is just a stellar country song, plain and simple.”Featured on the record are some of the best musicians Texas has to offer, with none other than “the pride of Lubbock, Texas,” Mr. Lloyd Maines, on the pedal steel. On lead guitar and bass is Scrappy Jud Newcomb, a producer and well-known stage musician himself, who lends his talents to Slaid Cleaves, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Adam Carroll, and several other Americana legends. Brian Beken, who currently plays in Robert Earl Keen’s band, can be heard on the fiddle, which is a prominent fixture on several of the very traditional country tracks. Bukka Allen is featured on the keys and Pauline Reese on harmony vocals for a handful of songs, providing the finishing touch.

The stars that shine on this album prove they really are big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas. The record also features Pat on the drums. Pat says of the project, “Wes Hanna has a heart of gold and sings the truth. His lyrics make you feel his characters’ pain, and hope. His voice is pure, powerful, and vulnerable. He’s put in his time at the writer’s desk, these songs prove it.”

Jessee Lee Band

The House of FiFi DuBois: 123 S Chadbourne St

8:30 pm - 12:00 am

Nashville recording Artist and Texas touring act, Jessee Lee, is a troubadour at its finest. At the ripe age of 25, she plays over 160 shows per year touring acoustically and with her 5 piece band. She has opened for several artists including Pure Prairie League, Darryl Worley, Radney Foster, William Beckmann, Kix Brooks, and others along with gracing the historic stages of Gruene Hall, Luckenbach Dancehall, John T. Floore’s Country Store, The AT&T Stadium, Dosey Doe—The Big Barn, and many more. Along with playing iconic venues around Texas, she has performed at festivals all around the United States including the Key West Songwriter Festival, the Mississippi Songwriter Festival, Forever West Fest, the Panama City Songwriter Festival, Florabama, and many more, sharing her Vintage-Americana-Soul sound. “Vintage-Americana-Soul” is the easiest way to box in this unique Artist, but Jessee’s music is a melting pot of genres ranging from Country to Motown topped with dimples and a lot of turquoise. Jessee Lee is known for her picturesque songwriting ability, unique vocals, and quirky bass line-like guitar playing. Jessee’s biggest musical influences include Amy Winehouse, Waylon Jennings, Guy Clark, Leon Redbone, Dolly Parton, Etta James, Elvis, and the Alabama Shakes.

Along with legendary singers, Jessee was heavily shaped by the Nashville Songwriting scene. Her Father, Grammy nominated Singer-Songwriter, David Lee, was her biggest musical influence. From the early age of 6, her father taught her how to play guitar and he emphasized the importance of good story telling in a song. There is no doubt she absorbed all of the creativity she grew up around. With over 200 original songs, you will find Jessee’s songwriting ability surpasses the usual mind of a 25 year old. Her repertoire of songs cover the reality of aging, the inner workings of family, the quest of life’s purpose, the hardships and happiness of relationships, and the obscure thoughts we have all had, but never knew we needed a song for. Jessee’s passion for writing songs extends outside of just writing songs for her records and for other artists, but it also extends to working with Veterans. Jessee began working with an organization called “Operation Song” in the beginning of 2022 which allows her to write the stories of active and retired military Veterans with PTSD as a form of music therapy at a rehab center called Warrior’s Heart.

Jessee put out her first single in November of 2022 titled “Dive Bar Superstar” which earned her “Texas Song of the Week” on the TIR charts and another in January of 2023 called “You’re Gonna Be Your Mama”. Both are original songs that showcase her humor as well as her ability to seamlessly blend Country and Soul music. In 2023, Jessee dropped her first song to Texas Regional Radio called “Where He Ain’t” which charted in the top 20’s–not bad for a debut. Jessee released her first 7-song EP titled “Dive Bar Superstar”, which she co-produced, in August of 2023 and is already planning on getting back in the studio to start the next project by December of 2023. With no plan of slowing down, Jessee Lee is sure to be a name you will be hearing for years to come. Come see a show near you to see why she is known as one of the best female singer-songwriters in the scene.
